About the publication

Independent coverage, with an evidence trail

What Argon Fieldnotes is for, how we use sources, and how we distinguish reporting from testing.

This is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with Google or Google DeepMind, and it does not provide model access. Gemini and other product names belong to their respective owners.

Our editorial standards

  • Attribute product facts to primary sources near the relevant statement.
  • Record review dates so readers can judge freshness.
  • Separate provider claims, editorial interpretation and first-hand results.
  • Keep missing details explicit instead of filling them with plausible specifications.
  • Publish comparisons only with their model versions and evaluation context.

The first edition contains source-led coverage and original evaluation guidance. It does not contain independent Argon test results. A future hands-on article should publish enough of its method for a reader to understand what was actually measured.

Updates and corrections

The source library is the review record for this edition. When correcting a statement, change the canonical article, its review date and the source record. Do not publish a competing article for a small correction to an existing answer.

This guide is a fixed initial snapshot until an editor updates it. There is no connected newsletter, waitlist or live update service.

A deliberately focused scope

Our supporting explainers exist to help readers interpret Argon’s capabilities and evaluations. We avoid unrelated AI news and chemical-element content that would blur the subject. Detailed integration tutorials will require public documentation and a real successful request before they are presented as working instructions.
